Three houses
An open experiment: three nearly identical pages. The first is plain HTML, the second adds a 1x1 image, the third adds the image and a small first-party script. Which stage a visitor reaches says what kind of client it is: an HTML-only fetcher, a client that loads resources, or one that runs JavaScript.
